NPI University of Bangladesh (NPIUB) follows a semester-based academic system in which each semester is six months long. The University operates two semesters in an academic year: Winter and Summer. The curriculum is organized into successive semesters to ensure systematic academic progression from fundamental concepts to advanced topics in Computer Science and Engineering. Each semester includes a planned set of theoretical and laboratory-based courses, along with project work where applicable. Student performance is evaluated through continuous assessments, assignments, quizzes, class tests, midterm and final examinations, laboratory work, and projects, in accordance with university regulations. This system promotes continuous learning, regular academic assessment, practical skill development, and the progressive acquisition of technical and professional competencies.
For the B.Sc. in CSE program, the University publishes eligibility requirements for both HSC/Regular and Diploma entry routes.
HSC/Equivalent applicants: minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent from the Science group.
Applicants obtaining GPA 2.00 in either SSC or HSC may be eligible where the combined CGPA of the two examinations is at least 6.00, subject to applicable University requirements.
Diploma in Engineering applicants: GPA 2.50 on a 4.00 scale or minimum second division.
For Diploma students, course waivers may be considered by the departmental equivalence committee in accordance with University policy.
